Add something meaningful to your New York vacation! Our Volunteership Add-On combines four weeks of English classes at Rennert with a volunteer placement at a nonprofit organization in New York City. Placements are unpaid and available in areas of service and compassionate service, such as:

Arts and Culture
Education and Youth Programs
Hunger Relief and Community Services
Senior Services
Parks and Environment
Animal Welfare

Get to know the people who make New York special, practice your English in everyday situations, and leave a positive mark on the community. Step outside your comfort zone and make new friends along the way.

And there's more: volunteering strengthens your profile. Whether you're applying to your dream college or university or planning your next step, it's a great way to show initiative, responsibility, and empathy.

Rennert's placement team will check in with you weekly, and after you successfully complete your placement, you'll receive a Certificate of Volunteership as well as any letters certain organizations provide.

16 or 20 English lessons per week (weeks 1–4)
20–40 hours per week of Language Volunteer Experience (weeks 5–8+)

Online interview
Intermediate level of English required
Students will receive a Certificate of Volunteer Experience at the end of their placement.

History

Rennert International started with one classroom, one teacher and one language. Almost four decades later, César Rennert's small enterprise has grown into a hub of international education and communication in New York City.

Since 1973, the Rennert Experiential Approach to Languages (R.E.A.L) gets students speaking from the first class. We make sure that students don’t only learn the language but that they experience it through contextual learning.

Rennert New York is located right in the heart of NYC in midtown Manhattan, two city-block distance from Grand Central Terminal, the Chrysler Building and the United Nations Headquarters.
